Michael Allen, DO

Dr. Allen grew up in the mountains of Utah, Idaho and Washington where he developed a passion for the outdoors. At Seattle Pacific University he studied chemistry and biochemistry. As the son of an engineer, Dr. Allen grew up building and designing whenever he could which turned into full time work building electric guitars and guitar amplifiers after college. With his background in mechanical and biologic sciences, Dr. Allen early on found that Orthopaedics had a special draw. In his free time he rock climbs as much as possible and enjoys continuing to build guitars and other woodworking projects.

Nathan Bascom, DO
Orthopaedic Surgery
4th Year
Dr. Nathan Bascom was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Ohio Northern University, where he was a member of the varsity soccer team. He developed an interest in orthopedics through personal injuries and the shadowing of orthopedic surgeons. During medical school at Ohio University, he completed research in pediatric ankle fractures at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. In his free time, Nate enjoys hiking, lifting weights, playing sports and spending time outdoors. Nate is excited and honored to be working for CMHS.

Michael Bogard, DO
Orthopaedic Surgery
4th Year
A native Southern Californian, Dr. Michael Bogard was born and raised in Huntington Beach, CA. He played collegiate football at the University of San Diego, while also earning a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Dr. Bogard’s passion for sports and the sciences continued on after his undergraduate education as he worked as a clinical assistant for an Orthopaedic Surgeon, Sports Medicine specialist in San Diego, CA. He then attended medical school at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, PA where he graduated with honors and earning the LECOM Excellence in Surgery award. During his time at medical school, Dr. Bogard conducted several research projects in total joint reconstruction while also volunteering with the sports medicine physicians for local sports team coverage. Outside of his academic and professional pursuits, Dr. Bogard enjoys surfing, golfing, snowboarding, hiking and living an active lifestyle with his fiancé Jamie. He is extremely grateful for the opportunity to pursue an Orthopaedic Surgery residency at Community Memorial Hospital and is looking forward to serving the community of Ventura.

Ammer Dbeis, DO
Orthopaedic Surgery
3rd Year
Dr. Ammer Dbeis was born and raised in Pheonix, Arizona to loving parents Lama and Mountasir. After graduating high school, Ammer attended Arizona State University where he graduated with a B.S.E. and M.S. in Biomedical Engineering with an emphasis on medicine and medical device design. While at ASU, Ammer was heavily involved in research in bio-mechanics and physiology, most notably pioneering virtual reality experiment protocols and inventing a low-cost colorimetric glucose-testing device. His passion for more direct patient care was bolstered by his work with Syrian refugees both here and abroad. This led him to attend medical school at Midwestern University: Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine where he continued his work in refugee aid and in research, co-authoring several publications in the management of cystic fibrosis. Ammer’s love for medical innovation, biomechanics, and the operating room brought him to Orthopaedic Surgery at CMHS, where he immediately felt at home among the amazing attendings, residents, nurses, and staff. Outside of the hospital, Ammer can be found spending time with his family and his fiance. He also enjoys weightlifting, traveling, hiking, playing almost any sport, and indulging in his love for Marvel movies. Ammer is grateful for the opportunity to train at CMHS and is excited to work with the wonderful people of Ventura.

Clay Eichenseer, DO
Orthopaedic Surgery
3rd Year
Dr. Clay Eichenseer was born just outside of St. Louis, Missouri. As the son of a brewmaster, Clay bounced around from St. Louis to Camarillo before settling in Columbus, Ohio. He attended the Univserity of California, Davis where he studied exercise biology. The youngest of 4 boys, Clay was heavily involved in sports growing up, including wrestling, track, football, soccer, baseball and diving. His involvement in sports extens to coaching high school soccer and diving as well. Dr. Eichenseer has also found success as a professional men’s physique competitor. This passion for athletics combined with his undergraduate degree studying the biomechanics of the musculoskeletal system is what led to his interest in orthopedics. After college, he moved back to Columbus and worked as a research associate focusing on the effects of environmental triggers and particulate matter exposure on cardiomyocyte function. He credits his oldest brother and fellow orthopedist, Paul, for helping pave the way for attending medical school at Ohio University and guiding him through the process of becoming in orthopedic resident. In his free time, Clay enjoys weightlifting and the outdoors, from hiking to playing sand volleyball. Clay looks forward to the opportunity to enhance the quality of life for patients suffering from musculoskeletal complications.

Cory Gall, DO
Orthopaedic Surgery
1st Year
Dr. Cory Gall is an Eastern Washington native, born in Walla Walla, WA. He received his B.S. in General Biology from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA. He was a four time letter recipient in collegiate football and competitive powerlifter. After undergraduate education, he worked for 3 years as a Mental Health Counselor before receiving his Master’s Degree from Heritage University in Medical Sciences. Meanwhile, he remained active by volunteering in his community within local hospitals. Dr. Gall attended Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences in Yakima, WA. He graduated with his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree in 2021 as part of the national Sigma Sigma Phi honor society. While in Medical School, he fell in love with Anatomy and Physiology, combined with his strong interest in athletics, which led him to pursue Orthopedic Surgery. In 2019, he published two surgical articles in colorectal research. One of the happiest days in Dr. Gall’s life was when he was accepted into Orthopedic Surgery residency at Community Memorial. Today, you can find him playing with his son at the beach, drinking coffee at a local roasters, or enjoying craft beer with friends.

Brian Kwan, DO
Orthopaedic Surgery
1st Year
Dr. Brian Kwan was born and raised in the Bay Area of California. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Physiology and Neuroscience at the University of California, San Diego. Brian developed an interest in orthopaedic surgery after undergoing knee surgery following several basketball injuries. After he was able to return to playing competitive basketball, he aspired to help patients also return to the activities that they are passionate about. Brian attended medical school at Des Moines University, where he served as a Surgical Skills Teaching Assistant. In medical school, he completed research on scapulohumeral rhythm variability as it relates to different shoulder injuries. During his free time, Brian enjoys playing basketball, traveling, cooking, and coaching youth sports.

Ezra Levy, DO
Orthopaedic Surgery
5th Year
A native of Minneapolis, MN, Dr. Ezra Levy completed his bachelor’s degree at Boston University. He became interested in the field of orthopaedics and pursued a variety of related extracurricular interests during his medical education, including volunteering at sporting events and performing sports physicals at local schools. Outside of his academic and professional pursuits, Ezra currently enjoys wakeboarding, snowboarding, hiking, going to the gym, watching movies at home, and dining out. While he is still considering his future subspecialty, he is interested in sports medicine and hopes to gain experience in this field during his residency. The opportunity to complete his residency at Community Memorial Hospital is unparalleled, and he looks forward to meeting his colleagues, faculty, and staff.

Edward McDonald, DO
Orthopaedic Surgery
4th Year
Dr. Edward McDonald grew up in Thousand Oaks, California. While completing his undergraduate education in biology and chemistry at CSU Channel Islands, he worked as a clinical scribe in the Emergency Department at Community Memorial Hospital, and for a sports medicine specialist at Southern California Orthopedic Institute. During medical school at Rocky Vista University – College of Osteopathic Medicine in Colorado, he served as an anatomy tutor, was a member of the Rural and Wilderness Honors Track, and received an award for Excellence in Clinical Medicine upon graduation. He enjoys spending his free time with his wife, two dogs, family and friends. His hobbies include playing ice hockey, snowboarding, surfing and mountain biking. He is grateful for the opportunity to return home and serve the communities of Ventura County while completing his residency training in Orthopedic Surgery at Community Memorial Hospital.

Brandon McKinney, DO

Dr. Brandon McKinney is a native Californian; raised in the Bay Area he grew up hiking, camping and playing baseball. He moved to southern California for undergraduate education at Biola University where he received a degree in Biology. He remained in Orange County to work as a medical scribe at an orthopaedic specialty hospital where he found mentors, who inspired him to become an orthopaedic surgeon. He attended medical school at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA and graduated with honors. Throughout each stage of his education he developed a passion for teaching – serving as a teaching assistant for various subjects, including anatomy, genetics, and ultimately clinical medicine at Western University. During his clinical years, he completed research projects in sports medicine and orthopaedic trauma. When not at the hospital he enjoys spending time with his wife, cooking, playing guitar, hiking, trail running, and generally anything that will keep him active and outdoors. He is excited to complete his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at Community Memorial Hospital of Ventura and looks forward to becoming part of the community.

Andrew Meyers, DO
Orthopaedic Surgery
3rd Year
Dr. Andrew Meyers was born and raised in O’Fallon, Missouri. While attending Mizzou, he earned his bachelor’s degree in radiologic science. During that period, he discovered his passion for orhopedic surgery while managing the C-arm in the operating rooms. After graduation, Dr. Meyers continued to work for the University of Missouri Health System and the Veteran Affairs as a radiologic technologist. While employed, he simultaneously took the pre-requisite courses in order to attend medical school and chase his newly found dream. He did not have to travel far after his acceptance to Kansas City University of Medicine and Bioscience and was soon honored into their orthopedic track. When Dr. Meyers has free time, he enjoys staying active with weight lifting, exploring with his two Siberian huskies, and playing hockey. He is excited to see what adventures California brings him and feels privileged to be a part of the great team at CMHS.

Michael Mousselli, DO

2nd Year
Dr. Michael Mousselli was born in Houston, Texas and has lived in Southern California since he was 11. Growing up as the son of a Mechanical Engineer and a Registered Nurse, he developed a deep interest in both physics and medicine, which inspired him to pursue a medical career in orthopedic surgery.
Dr. Mousselli has a passion for both international medicine and research. During medical school at Western University, he traveled to Mexico and Africa to provide medical care while also working on research involving patients with traumatic injuries.
In his free time, he enjoys playing guitar and surfing. Having been raised in the area surrounding Ventura County and done several of his rotations at CMH, he is excited to return to this wonderful community that he calls home. -
Jake Mushaben, DO
Orthopaedic Surgery
2nd Year
Dr. Jacob Mushaben was born and raised on a ranch in central Montana near Billings. He received his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Montana State University where he was a member of the men’s track and field team, competing in the jumps as a team captain. His interest in medicine and orthopedics stems from his desire to help people get back to what they love doing, as well as his interest in athletics, anatomy, and his time spent working with tools on the ranch for most of his life. He attended medical school at Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences, and during this time was involved in volunteer work such as medical sideline coverage at local high school games, and serving as a volunteer assistant coach for a local high school track and field program. He also completed clinical research on opioid use protocols following total knee replacement, and posters on traumatic orthopedic complications and medical student education improvement. In his free time, Jake enjoys spending time outside mountain biking, skiing, golfing, playing basketball, rafting, and traveling.

John Ngo, DO

Dr. John Ngo grew up in San Jose, CA before completing his undergraduate studies in physiology and neuroscience at the University of California, San Diego. He then worked as an emergency medical technician for a year before attending medical school. During his medical education, John became interested in the field of orthopaedic surgery after witnessing the profound impact musculoskeletal injuries have on patients. He wants to be able to provide patients with another chance at doing what they love in life. John is interested in medical education and research. Outside of medicine, he enjoys powerlifting, running, traveling, and rock climbing.

Emilio Robles, DO

3rd Year
Dr. Emilio Robles is a Southern California native, born in Long Beach, but raised in Cypress California. He attended California State University of Long Beach for his undergraduate studies, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry. He then went on to medical school at Touro University Nevada. During his clinical clerkships, he worked with a mentor that showed him what it meant to be passionate about the field of medicine you work in. He knew he wanted to enter a specialty where he would enjoy his work, but also be challenged daily. This combined with his love of the operating room led him to pursue a career in Orthopaedic Surgery. When he rotated at Community Memorial Health System, he was drawn to the camaraderie between residents, surgical training and resident faculty relationships. He is happy to be in Ventura back in Southern California close to family. In his free time, he enjoys hanging out with his girlfriend, spending time with his dog, going out with his siblings, anything outdoors, and most importantly – trying new places to eat.

Hillary Rolfs, DO

1st Year
Dr. Hillary Rolfs is originally from Wisconsin (Go Pack Go) but later moved to Colorado. She attended the University of Notre Dame for undergrad, then got a Masters in Biomedical Sciences from Boston University. She then attended Marian University in Indianapolis for medical school. She grew up downhill ski racing all over the world, but these days has retired to backcountry skiing with her siblings. She enjoys sailing, running, camping, cooking, and dogs. Hillary first developed an interest in orthopedics at age 16 after shadowing a mentor. She’s incredibly excited to join the team here at CMHS.

Atul Saini, DO

Dr. Atul Saini was born in Oslo, Norway where he spent the first few years of my life before stopping in India and eventually America when he was 2. He grew up in Santa Rosa, CA along the outskirts of wine country. He attended the University of California Santa Barbara, graduating with a degree in Physiology and then attended medical school at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA. During medical school, he completed a clinical research project on a novel fixation for patella at Cedars Sinai. He developed an interest in orthopaedics from an early age through breaking his arm 2 times to the stories his mom, an orthopaedic nurse, would tell him from her work. This experience, combined with his love for sports and the musculoskeletal system, led him toward pursuing orthopedics. In his free time he enjoys playing basketball, hiking, traveling, cooking, working out, and watching sports. He is very excited and honored to receive his training at CMHS.

Brent Sanderson, DO

5th Year
Dr. Brent Sanderson grew up Rochester, NY where he could usually be found at the local hockey rink, golf course or soccer field. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Geneseo in 2013. During his undergraduate career, Dr. Sanderson spent his time in a variety of different areas, from studying starfish larvae’s capability to clone themselves to coaching the Women’s Club Hockey Team. Before attending medical school, he spent time researching marine iguanas in the Galapagos Islands, organizing and editing the book, “Building Leaders One Hour at a Time,” and volunteering for the Geneseo First Responders. He then attended A.T. Still University at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, receiving the Sydney Ross, D.O. award and Paul and Helen Kudelko award upon graduation. From personal injuries, clinical rotations, and an interest in body mechanics, his passion continued to grow for a career in Orthopedic Surgery. Brent is excited for new opportunities and learning experiences at CMHS and is ready to help serve the Ventura community. During his free time he enjoys playing hockey, wakeboarding, and golfing. He can also be found enjoying the outdoors and exercising with friends and family.

Dylan Shafer, DO

1st Year
Dr. Dylan Shafer grew up in Tehachapi, CA. He attended UCLA for his undergraduate education receiving a bachelors in Neuroscience. He attended Western University for medical school where he was an osteopathic manipulative medicine teaching fellow. His interest in engineering and biomechanics inspired him to go into orthopedic surgery. He enjoys woodworking, drawing, and playing guitar in his free time. He competed as a varsity rower in college and still enjoys competitively weightlifting. He has been enjoying his time in Southern California and has enjoyed hiking and camping in the surrounding area.

Frederic Washburn, DO

Dr. Frederic Washburn is a Rochester, New York native. He played collegiate football at St. Lawrence University, where a shoulder injury led him to discover his interest in orthopaedics. He pursued this interest by conducting clinical research at Massachusetts General Hospital Orthopaedic Service during his gap year. At AZCOM, his experiences as the Lead Anatomy Teaching Assistant and President of the Sports Medicine Club transformed his interest into a passion. Outside of medicine, Dr. Washburn enjoys boating, golfing and weight lifting. Born and raised just outside of Buffalo, New York, he loves his chicken wings and is a lifelong fan of the Buffalo Bills. He is excited and honored to complete his residency at CMHS.
