The Integrated Behavioral Health Training Program (IBH) at Community Memorial Healthcare, Graduate Medical Education and Midtown Medical Group, provides high-quality training opportunities for post-graduate psychology trainees in a fully integrated outpatient/inpatient medical setting. This systemic-based clinical training ensures that trainees become proficient in delivering clinical services and professional support and consultation across a variety of modalities. We are committed to preparing trainees for dynamic roles as practitioners, supervisors, teachers and leaders in the field of integrated behavioral health fully imbedded in primary care medical settings. Trainees work side-by-side with medical residents and faculty in the Family and Internal Medicine training programs giving trainees an opportunity to learn about a wide variety of medical conditions while providing consultation on mental health issues.

During this training program, trainees will have the opportunity to learn and grow in their professional capacity by providing the following services to patients in the Resident Continuity Clinics and Community Memorial Hospital:

  • Assessment and treatment planning in the integrated behavioral health setting
  • Individual Psychological Evaluation
  • Outpatient adult psychotherapy
  • Inpatient evaluation, consultation, and bedside support
  • Psychoeducational and Process groups
  • Adolescent/child/family cases

In addition to seeing patients, trainees will be offered opportunities to develop didactics on mental health topics for residents and to collaborate with residents on research projects. Trainees are encouraged to develop research or programs based on their personal interests as applicable to our patient population.
