Internal Medicine

The Internal Medicine Residency Program at CMHS offers an opportunity to learn medicine in a small collegial environment that emphasizes academic excellence. Our teaching program fosters strong diagnostic and treatment skills with the goal of training community leaders focused on compassionate care. Our faculty includes a diverse group of attending physicians with a wide breadth of experience and a dedication to teaching. Under their supervision, residents take on increasing levels of responsibility for the care of their own patients in both the inpatient and outpatient setting.

Our residency has initial accreditation with ACGME and AOA accreditation. We are a three year training program with a structured core curriculum as well as elective rotations. This exposure provides a strong foundation to prepare residents for the annual ITE as well as the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine certification examination. The didactic program is based on protected education time and includes regular conferences, journal clubs, Boards Review, and skills labs.

Our goal is to foster an environment that includes exceptional teaching and scholarly research activity, with a focus on clinical patient care. Our Residency Program is founded on the values of compassion, quality, integrity, and teamwork. Through strong commitment to our core values, lifelong learning, and patient care, we train independent physicians who are in the forefront of providing expert care in the community.
