Quality Improvement Patient Safety (QIPS) Fellowship

The QIPS Fellowship at Community Memorial is a one-year non-ACGME accredited junior faculty position designed to provide Community Memorial residency graduates with clinical, academic, and administrative training in quality improvement, patient safety, and leadership development. This collaboration between our clinical and Quality Services departments provides an opportunity for early career physicians to become involved in medical education and hospital administration and learn the skills to lead change in health care.

The fellowship includes, but is not limited to:

  • Leadership: Facilitate alignment with institutional QIPS initiatives, lead patient safety rounds with residents, and prepare for key areas of institutional CLER visits.
  • Scholarship: Designs and presents/publishes one clearly defined, mentored longitudinal project with the goal of systematic improvements at Community Memorial.
  • Teaching: Time as clinician-educator in hospital or in clinic
  • Opportunity to attend a regional or national QIPS conference
  • Participation in key hospital committees, RCAs, and resident QIPS teaching and project mentorship.
